Privacy policy

This policy explains what information BH Catering & Events (“BH,” “we”) collects through our online ordering site, order.bhcater.com, and how we use it. We collect only what we need to take, prepare, deliver and bill your orders.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, work email, phone number, company, and your role on the company account.
- Order details: delivery addresses and instructions, dates and times, items and choices, guest counts, allergy and dietary notes, tips, purchase order numbers and order history.
- Company billing details: billing name and address, accounts payable email, payment terms, and tax-exemption certificate details.
- Event requests: the details you send us when you request a quote.
- Payment details: card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep only a reference number Stripe gives us.
- Technical information: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and basic logs such as page requests and error reports that help us keep the site working.
How we use it
- To prepare and deliver your orders, including passing allergy notes to our kitchen.
- To charge cards, send invoices and keep accounting records.
- To send order confirmations, changes, reminders, receipts and invoices by email, and text updates if you opt in.
- To manage company accounts, invoicing approval and credit limits.
- To answer your questions and event requests, and to prevent fraud and misuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that run the site for us, under agreements that limit their use of it: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (website hosting) and Resend (email). We may also share information when the law requires it, to collect amounts owed, or to protect our rights and safety.
If you order under a company account, the company’s account administrators and finance contacts can see the company’s orders and invoices.
How long we keep it
We keep order and billing records for as long as needed for our business and as required for tax and accounting, generally seven years. You can ask us to close your account; we will remove what we are not required to keep.
Your choices
- Update your name and phone number, or ask us to correct other details, at any time.
- Reply STOP to any text message to stop texts.
- Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to delete your account, by emailing orders@bhcater.com.
Security
We use encrypted connections, sign-in codes instead of passwords, and access controls so that customers see only their own company’s orders. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
